Project Work

  1. Oracle HCM Cloud Enterprise Program

Length :(12 – 24 Months)
Program Team Size and Makeup:

The program consisted of 6 IT Subprograms, 3 of which were at the span of my control, including:

  • Personnel Administration
  • Reporting
  • Data Security & Privacy

Teams on each subprogram consisted of SME’s from two suppliers – Deloitte and Cognizant, as well as several Business/IT internal stakeholders and regional leads to work through planning, design, development/configuration, test and deployment phases to decommission PeopleSoft and implement the cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) solution.

Tools, Technologies & Methodologies: Microsoft Project, Project Governance, Microsoft PowerPoint, Process Flows, Gantt charts, status reports to multiple governance levels, Clarity, SharePoint, issue and risk management, change management, exceptional communication and leadership abilities.

Challenges:

  • Alignment across large global programs
  • Overcame by: issue and risk management, strong communication and execution techniques.
  1. PMO SharePoint Implementation

Length :(6 Months)
Project Team Size and Makeup: External Vendor for Development, One Business Analyst, Operational Technical Resources.

  1. National Sales Program

Consisting of three projects:

  • Portfolio Dashboard Portal
  • Residuals
  • Referrals

I solely recommended and received buy-in from the VP of Engineering and CTO for combining the three projects above into a program.

Why: To exploit the benefits and have better control and visibility of the issues and risks. On multiple occasions issues such as resource or technological constraints impacted projects across the entire functional area since they were so closely interconnected.

Challenges: Poor business requirements.

Solution: Although in the construction phase of the project lifecycle, I advocated to the project sponsors and stakeholders to stop the project and go back to the planning stage to further elaborate business requirements, as well as combining the multiple projects into one program to maximize benefits.

The foundation for project success is solid business requirements.

  1.  Enterprise Access Request Management (Alert Enterprise) Software Implementation for Utility Organization

  • Highly visible
  • Governed by regulatory agencies for utility compliance
  • The business users did not have process in place to support the requested functionality in the new application
  • There were several data clean-up activities that were required simultaneously while the project was progressing forward.

Details:

  • The project was approved to replace an existing enterprise access request application.
  • COTS Package customized by the vendor to meet the specific business needs.
  • In addition to PM responsibilities, I acted as a change agent in preparing the organization for the transition by holding various seminars, informational sessions, and electronic communications reminding users of the future processes of enterprise.

Results: I was able to handle challenges by constantly communicating with the project team daily with clear-cut tasks/goals approved and signed-off by each stakeholder and team member.  I also used positive reinforcement incentives when the project team members met deliverables on schedule. As the Project Manager, I delivered the project within scope and budget. As a result of the deployment of the application, there was a decrease from 480 hours of work to roughly 40, which tremendously increased employee productivity and efficiency.
